Welcome to Matthew Hoffman's website.

Since you've navigated the World Wide Web to this page, welcome brave Columbus. Perhaps you were seeking cyber-spices and inadvertently landed here. While I've got you here, let me fill you in on who I am and relate some of my quaint customs before you're on your way.

I'm Matthew Hoffman and, although some like to refer to themselves as Renaissance Men, I prefer to define myself as a Dark Ages Dilettante. To wit, my achievements as a performer and writer cover the range from theatre, film, television, sketch and improv comedy, and voice over, to books, short stories, and screenplays. I've even combined my love of surfing and cooking by creating a line of sauces under the trademark of "Surfin' Sauce". Be sure to check out the website for this delicious product is no longer being manufactured.

My most recent accomplishment is as one of the screenwriters for the critically acclaimed film "What The Bleep Do We Know!?". More information on this film can be found at the official website.

In 1997, Metrobooks published my biography of Tony Bennett, "The Best Is Yet To Come", which at the time had the distinction of being the first published account of the singer's life. By the way, I met Mr. Bennett after the book was published and he was very gracious. The following year, Running Press asked me to write a biography of radio legend Howard Stern. [I never met Mr. Stern so I can't report on his graciousness or lack thereof] Drawing on interviews with numerous inside sources and extensive research I authored "The Completely Unauthorized Howard Stern". The book was well received, given positive nods by Playboy and Entertainment Weekly, and I supported the effort with an extensive radio and television interview tour. Here's a little tidbit - one of my radio interviews took place via telephone and I was pitted against a representative from Morality in Media. Inasmuch as I was in the comfort of my home for the interview, I got into character for the radio debate by getting completely naked. I fear the effect was lost due to the limitations of the respective media.

What am I up to now? Oh, all sorts of things. Come back and I'll fill you in.
